Partial Knee Resurfacing and Partial Knee Replacement

As an alternative to total knee replacement surgery, our facility offers partial knee resurfacing. Using a minimally invasive approach, Dr. Jurbala is able to target the diseased area of the knee without affecting the surrounding normal, healthy cartilage. During the surgery, the diseased part of the knee is removed and replaced with orthopedic implants. Since partial knee resurfacing is performed through a tiny incision of only two to three inches (total knee replacement requires an 8 to twelve inch incision), and most patients are able to return to normal moderate activities within six to eight weeks.

Partial knee resurfacing is often an excellent alternative for patients who are not considered good candidates for total knee replacement surgery.
