As an alternative to total knee replacement surgery, our facility offers partial knee resurfacing. Using a minimally invasive approach, Dr. Jurbala is able to target the diseased area of the knee without affecting the surrounding normal, healthy cartilage. During the surgery, the diseased part of the knee is removed and replaced with orthopedic implants. Our expert Central Florida team will provide quality care and support prior to, during and following your surgery.
Since partial knee resurfacing is performed through a tiny incision of only two to three inches (total knee replacement requires an 8 to twelve inch incision), and most patients are able to return to normal moderate activities within six to eight weeks.
Partial knee resurfacing is often an excellent alternative for patients who are not considered good candidates for total knee replacement surgery.
Recovery periods vary, depending on the extent of the surgery. The doctor may send you home with orthopedic braces that you will wear until you have fully healed. Contact our Central Florida clinics for additional information.

When damage to the knee is more extensive, it may be necessary to replace the entire knee. During total knee replacement surgery, damaged bone and cartilage are removed and replaced with a plastic and metal prosthesis. Having one of the best orthopedic surgery teams in Central Florida helps to ensure a successful surgery.
