Dr. Brian Jurbala is the founder and president of Highland Center for Orthopaedics in Lakeland, Florida. Considered one of the best orthopedic surgeons near Tampa and in the Central Florida area, Dr. Jurbala has always had a special interest in athletics and sports medicine. He has dedicated his practice to caring for professional, collegiate, high school and recreational athletes as well as other active individuals of all ages.

Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Brian Jurbala, and his Central Florida staff of athletic trainers and physician assistants provide athletes with individualized care and work diligently to expedite a safe and healthy return to the game.

Using advanced techniques and the latest, most effective equipment available, Dr. Jurbala is able to perform such procedures as arthroscopic knee surgery, shoulder surgery and ACL surgery quickly and efficiently. Dr. Brian Jurbala is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who serves residents near Tampa and throughout Central Florida. His special interests include sports injuries and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder, arthroscopic procedures of the knee, elbow, wrist, ankle and hand, and upper extremity surgery.

Dr. Brian Jurbala is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Jurbala is an active member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and the International Cartilage Repair Society.

He currently serves as the team physician for Southeastern College, George Jenkins High School, and Lakeland Christian High School, and he is an Associate Team Physician for Florida Southern College. He attended Penn State University, where he studied Biomedical Engineering and Chemistry. He went on to obtain his medical degree from Temple University and subsequently completed an internship in general surgery at East Carolina University and a five-year residency in orthopedics and sports medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on disorders of the hand, wrist, shoulder, and elbow. As a premier orthopedic surgeon near Tampa, Florida, Dr. Brian Jurbala remains committed to continuing education for himself and his staff.

Dr. Jurbala is a highly respected and active member of the medical community. He has written many scientific articles, media materials, and a chapter for a book. In addition, Dr. Jurbala has presented results of his orthopedic research at various local, national and international scientific meetings.

Dr. Jurbala is a native of the East Coast, and he currently resides with his wife, Jennifer, in Lakeland, Florida.
